Our Love Story
Long before Carola and Travis knew what love or forever would mean, their paths had already crossed: they met in elementary school and spent third, fourth, and fifth grade together.
Of all the memories Carola has from those years, one that has always stayed with her is Travis’s freckled face, and the way he never missed an opportunity to tease her.
Years later, she would find out that behind all of that teasing was a childhood crush.
After fifth grade, they went their separate ways. Eight years passed without seeing or speaking to one another, and life continued on for both of them. But during all that time, Travis had remained connected with Carola’s mom on Instagram.
One day, he reached out to ask about Carola. She didn’t have social media at the time, so with a little help from her mom, Travis finally got her number.
Soon after, Carola’s phone rang from an unfamiliar "954" number. It was Travis.
After eight years, two people who had only known each other as children were given the chance to meet again as young adults. There was something meaningful about reconnecting with someone who belonged to such an early chapter of each other’s lives, while also having so much left to learn about the people they had become.
That phone call marked the beginning of a new chapter. Their years together would bring growth, change, beautiful memories, and challenges .
Their story was never about everything happening perfectly or exactly as planned. Instead, it became a story of growing individually, finding their way back to one another, and ultimately choosing to build a life together.
On July 6, 2026, that journey led them to Lake Como, Italy, where Travis asked Carola to marry him. And now, in a beautiful full-circle moment, they will return to Italy: this time to become husband and wife.
On April 27, 2027, in Verona, Carola and Travis will begin the next chapter of their lives surrounded by the people who have been part of their journey and who mean the most to them.
From two children who once shared an elementary school classroom, to finding each other again eight years later, to choosing each other for a lifetime: theirs is a story neither could have planned, but one they are endlessly grateful became their own.
